In Chama, NM you can ride a train through the mountains. The view is wonderful. They take you for a ride and the fare even includes a lunch at the other end of the ride. They also have the absolute best fudge shop inside their shops. There are several places to stay that offer beautiful scenery. You can either stay at one of the lodges and cabins or there is even the option to rent a home for the extent of your trip on Lake Heron. There are plenty of trails for hiking - lots of good healthy outdoor activities. And there are plenty of beautiful mountain views.
